Matt and I met for the first time November 7th, 2007. It was our first date, after exchanging emails back and forth the previous day. Our first date was sweet and simple. Neither one of us are up for all the fancy stuff. We're the couple that likes to wear shorts, shirt and flip flops. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then proceeded over to the movie theatre. The only movie that was playing at that time of the evening was the "Bee Movie" with Jerry Seinfeld. It soon turned out to be the type of movie we both prefer. We're still a bunch of kids inside. We just celebrated our 2 year anniversary and Matt proposed to me that night. Matt and I went on a cruise for our 2 year anniversary and it was a lot of fun, besides the 6-8 ft seas. The ship was swaying so bad.
Matt is from Taylorville, IL. It's a small down, not many people live there. He is the middle child. He has an older brother named, Roger and a little sister named, Emily. His mom's name is, Debbie and his dad's name is Jack. Matt moved to Cocoa Beach with his mom when he was a teenager and has lived in Florida ever since. He works for Lewis Specialty Construction. He has been with them for 7 years now.
Me, Dana, is from Dayton, OH. I lived there until I was 4. Then we moved to Port Charlotte, FL and lived there for most of my childhood, besides another move, which only lasted for 2 years. And then we moved right back to Port Charlotte. I am the youngest of three. I have two older brothers, starting with the oldest, Derek, and then Aaron. My parent's names are John and Debbie. There was a lot of babies being named Debbie, Debra or Deborah in the 50's and 60's. Coincidence! I have a beautiful son named, Joseph, who is 6 years old. He is my special little boy, even though he's not so little anymore. THE RING BEARER!
Matt and I are best friends, and can joke around with each other. We're not afraid to be ourselves around each other, and that is why our love is so perfect. Were are like two kids, running around and beating up on each other, playfully that is. We prefer to have nice quiet eveings and stay at home and watch a movie. But there are occasions we do go out to eat. And we usually head back home to watch a movie...huh? Fun aren't we. Well we just bought our first house this past August, just in time for Joseph to start Kindergarten. We love our home very much, and made it a part of us. We've started a wall to put family photos up and left a bunch of room to put future pictures on the wall. We can't wait to get married and start a family of our own in the future.
The wedding will be on a Sunday in June. Don't know when the date is just yet. Give me a couple more weeks to lock it in. But it will be at the Longboat Key Club & Resort at Longboat Key, FL. The ceremony and reception will both be held there. So no need to drive to the reception site. Just a nice little walk. The ceremony will be on the beach an hour before sunset. The bridal party will be wearing flip flops at the reception and barefoot at the ceremony. You're welcomed to wear bright casual colors. I want you to be comfortable. My colors are going to be tropical green and tropical blue. Think Caribbean colors. I still want you guys to look nice, so don't go to casual. Something that would be appropriate for an informal wedding. The reception will have food of course. Haven't quite decided on what kind just yet. I'm sure it will have seafood.
