Megan Gossman & Michael Lowrance
Our Story
Michael and I met online in July of 2006. We went out on our first date and had an absolute blast. Thereafter we saw each other literally everyday for 6 weeks until he moved to Colorado. Shortly after Michael moved to Colorado, we both made the decision that if we wanted this amazing relationship to continue, I was going to have to move to Colorado and be with him. Long distance is just too hard. So in October of 2006, I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be with Michael. It was fast, but we both agree we wouldn't change a thing if we had to do it all over again.
I think we both knew very quickly that we loved each other. We have only gotten closer over these 3 years and we are now ready to officially start our lives together. I don't know many people that love each other as much as we do or that are as dedicated to each other as we are.
August 1st of 2009, Michael asked me to marry him. He proposed at the Dallas Planetarium (plane...arium *wink wink*) with my Dad and Stepmom both right there. It was incredibly special. The other people in the planetarium all gasped when he pulled out the ring and they all had to stop me in the hall afterward and exclaim over my gorgeous ring and wish us the best. The entire experience was wonderful.
Our Wedding
Michael and I have chosen not to have a traditional wedding. We are both much happier to spend the money we would have spent on a huge wedding instead on a great honeymoon. The relief of not having to plan a wedding is also absolutely wonderful. Instead, we will have a small ceremony with just immediate family at the Southlake Courthouse in Southlake at 2pm on October 9th.
I plan on wearing a simple white dress. Not a wedding gown. Michael will be well dressed in a new suit. My mother and stepfather and my father and stepmother will be there as well as Michael's mother and stepfather and aunt and uncle and sister and brother in law and possibly his grandmother if she can make it out. After the ceremony we will be going out for a nice dinner.
Our Reception
As of right now, we don't have our reception planned yet. We think we'd like to have it sometime in January after we return from our honeymoon. The reception will be big. We want all of our friends and family there that couldn't be at the wedding. Good times and celebrations!
A Special Message From Us
Michael and I have thought long and hard about marriage and if we're ready and if we're certain that this is what we want. The answer from both of us is a loud YES! We are ready to be husband and wife!
We hope that everyone will please take the time to view our honeymoon registry. At this point in our lives, we already have a wonderful household and we really don't need wedding gifts. Instead we have chosen to start a 'honeymoon registry'. By choosing to do this, we are asking for a contribution towards our honeymoon (which will be somewhere in the Carribean!) instead of gifts. We appreciate everything and anything that people choose to do. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email either of us!
We love all of our family and friends dearly and appreciate you being a part of our lives and this special occassion!
