Jamie and Gordon have been together for over three years and have decided to make it official! The couple met while in college and working at Pok-e-jo’s BBQ restaurant in Austin, Texas. The attraction between the two was instant and it soon became obvious that they were inseparable. The 5th Street location of Pok-e-jo’s where their romance blossomed is unfortunately no longer in existence, but the memories created there will last forever. Jamie and Gordon’s love for one another continues to grow as they step into an exciting new chapter of life together!
The big day is Sunday, April 26th, 2009 at the Salt Lick BBQ restaurant in Driftwood, Texas. Nestled in the central Texas hill country just outside Austin, the Salt Lick offers outstanding bar-be-que and a laid back atmosphere. It is famous for quality food and beautiful scenery attracting people from all over for a truly Texas experience. The ceremony will be held outdoors beneath a shady canopy of towering old pecan trees next to a peaceful meandering creek. The site is separate from the actual restaurant providing a private and spacious green grove for our ceremony and photos.
For those involved in the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner: The rehearsal is from 3:30-4:30 on Saturday, April 25th at the Salt Lick. We will have the dinner at Z-Tejas Grill on 6th Street in Austin afterward. The time has not been set yet, but will be about 6:30-9:00pm or so.
The reception will be held immediately after the ceremony at the Salt Lick Pavilion. There will be no need for further driving, as the Pavilion is just up the hill from the ceremony site. An all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet will be provided along with tea, coffee, beer and wine for your beverage pleasure. Arrangements can be made for vegetarians – please let Jamie know in your RSVP. We will be dining and dancing the night away (or until about 10:30) and we hope that you can join us – it will truly be an event to remember!!
We are offering two hotel locations with discounted rooms available Thursday, April 23 – Sunday, April 26 under the Goodsell-Bassett wedding party. The Holiday Inn Express is closest to the wedding site and is most definitely the more affordable option. Please make reservations with Holiday Inn Express by April 10, 2009 in order to receive the discounted rate. The Marriot/Residence Inn Downtown is a great option for those who intend to sightsee or participate in the famous Austin night life.
