We met on-line at www.Date.ca, believe it or not! We knew early on that we were meant to be together forever and look forward to officially proclaiming our love for one another in front of friends and family.
The Proposal
1st proposal - At the Masseys' Halloween party 2005 ... "Ryan" proposed on Bob FM after requesting "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. When the DJ starting panicking because she hadn't heard back from him, he called back in to say Celeste had said yes! Ryan nearly had a heart attack hearing himself on the radio when he wasn't on the phone, but luckily there was an officer on the scene trained in CPR.
2nd proposal (Oct 2, 2006) - Celeste figured I was going to propose sometime soon (we were buying a house together, after all), but definitely didn't expect it the night it happened. She'd been telling me I had to top my first proposal! We were at the Aerosmith/Motley Crue concert and I had brought the ring along just in case as I hadn't yet decided how I was going to propose. In the middle of the concert, I decided to go buy an Aerosmith scarf and thread the ring through it. Unfortunately, after running to all of the stands I couldn't find a scarf anywhere. So, the next best thing was the other Aerosmith t-shirt I hadn't bought her yet. When I got back, I kept the t-shirt bundled up beside me and Celeste was so wrapped up in the concert she didn't pay it much mind. We were talking about getting engaged and asked her if she would take an engagement t-shirt until I could afford to buy her a ring. She replied in her very assertive way, "No, I don't want a proposal without a ring" and there I was left. After a few more failed attempts to get her to take the t-shirt, I started to feel ill. She offered to leave the concert, but I refused and went to get a drink (non-alcoholic) and fresh air. After we got back to the truck after the concert, I asked her if she wanted to try the other t-shirt on since it was a smaller size than the first one I'd bought her. She again said, "no, it will be fine." It wasn't until we were at the Pickering Town Centre and Celeste was getting into her car to drive home that I finally got her attention by refusing to let her close the car door. I told her I loved her, I started to unravel the t-shirt while getting down onto one knee. Before I could even ask her, Celeste grabbed the ring and put it on her finger (not anxious at all!). She let me ask and then said, "Of course I will!" and we kissed. Celeste felt terrible all the way home once she realized what I'd been trying to do all night!
